History of BI

The MS BI team have created a very interesting PPT presentation that explains the long and short of the BI business… very entertaining.

Been a busy few weeks. I went to CT last week to present a session on SQL Server 2008 for TechDays 2009. Interesting audience. I’m used to speaking to SQL developer types, and this was a movie theatre full of IT Pro administrator-types. Seemed to go OK though.
I was able to demo a little bit of the work we’re investing heavily in, which is geospatial representation of data. a.k.a SQL 2008 + Data Mining + Silverlight 2.0 + Virtual Earth.
The kinds of apps that we can build these days are really very cool, long live on the mash-up 🙂
On the side, I’m considering entering some abstracts for the PASS and SQL Connections conferences late this year. Let’s see how that goes.
