I’m in the process of piecing together a very exciting Proof of Concept… Basically we’re placing a Microsoft front end over a number of existing DW systems.
One of the components requires embedding an Excel Services report into a Performance Point Monitoring dashboard. Simple enough, one would think.
All was going well until I needed to expose a worksheet with multiple components, including both grids and charts.
Worked 100% fine through Excel Services directly, with the drop down list allowing me to select different items; however when viewing through PPM, the drop down disappears.
This was caused by a small property that can be set for the Excel Services report in the Dashboard Designer. (Edit –> Toolbar Options)
be sure to tick ‘Named item dropdown List’.
Makes the world of difference.
